Urologist and Robotic Surgeon.

Sumeet is a New Zealand–trained Urologist with advanced expertise in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. He graduated from the University of Otago with Distinction in Surgery and completed both an MBA and a PhD at Victoria University during his surgical training. Sumeet has undertaken an international fellowship in Urology and Advanced Robotic Surgery at the Global Robotics Institute in Celebration, Florida, USA, where he was directly trained and mentored by Professor Vipul Patel, widely recognised as the world’s highest-volume robotic prostate surgeon. During this fellowship, he gained high-volume experience in complex robotic urological procedures, particularly nerve-sparing robotic radical prostatectomy, aiming to achieve excellent prostate cancer control while preserving urinary continence and sexual function.

Sumeet is actively involved in research and has widely published and presented on robotic surgery and evidence-based practice. He is currently the Supervisor of Training with the Waitematā District Health Board. He practises in both the public and private sectors and is committed to delivering excellent clinical outcomes through precision surgery, modern technology, and discreet, personalised patient care.
